Women in Action is a series of conversations with remarkable women who contribute to advancing the gender balance in leadership.

WA seeks to showcase positive examples of women who achieved leading positions in politics and business that can inspire women and men to wanting more.

It aspires to become a movement that celebrates positive female role models with the goal to create a pathway to greater gender equality, encourage young girls to be tomorrow's leaders, and gauge support from men.

At the end of 2019, there were only ten female heads of state and 13 female heads of government worldwide. According to UN Women, in 2020, only 24.9% of the world’s parliamentarian seats are held by women. In 2019, out of the 500 chief executives leading the highest-grossing businesses, just under 7 percent are women. Did you know that Katheryn Bigelow is the only woman to have even won an Oscar for Best Movie Director? And that only five female chefs in the world hold 3 Michelin stars? The list goes on…

Things are changing, but progress needs to be achieved much faster. WA talks to women who made it in their field, and asks them what needs to change in order for that to happen for many more women much more rapidly.

WA's conversations are published on MediumTwitterLinkedin, and Instagram.
